I’m Emine. Former health director, wellness author + wholistic therapist. My weekly Substack MOTHER NOURISH is created to help mums live life on more than the crumbs.

The messy magic of our middle years

WHOLISTIC + REALISTIC NOURISHMENT

A SNAPSHOT: Mid-40s, entering perimenopause, full-time working mum, two wild kids (one pre-teen, one teen) with their own hormonal whirlwinds at play (hold onto your hats!). With a 25-year career in wellbeing, I share the simple habits, systems + choices that have helped me move from regular depletion to daily doses of essential nourishment, and that also support my two growing daughters.

Weekly Mother Nourishment
– Sundays @ 8am

  • A place to nest + rest. My favourite rituals, nooks, books + ways to replenish + restore, every day, and my ultimate home comforts that help me & my family unwind, replenish + reset, every day.

  • My favourite simple 'mother bowls', monthly tonics, teas + easy boosters that I support myself + my children with, season by season, informed by my studies in Ayurveda + Women's Yoga Therapy.

  • Nature knows best, but I've also learned that when life is busy + time is short, our hardworking bodies appreciate a gentle, helping hand. As a trained holistic skin therapist and former beauty + health director, I am fascinated by the interplay between skin, body, gut + mind, and share the choices we make at home.

  • The choices that spark joy, peace, ease + light. The stuff I try to do for myself, as often as I can, that I've learned radiates out, from a fuller cup, into the lives of those I love.

ONE WEEKLY LETTER; 7 DAILY DOSES OF GOODNESS

I thought at this point in my motherhood journey, I’d have most things figured out. I thought my kids would be more independent (turns out, big kids: big worries), that I’d be working less (nope), and I’d have more time to myself (older kids + later bedtimes = bye bye restful evenings).

Parenting two big-hearted, highly sensitive, ND girls is as wild a ride as I could ever have imagined. It’s exhausting, brittling, stretching, testing, heartbreaking… and also joyful, hopeful, wonderful, surprising + heavenly.

And the truth is, I’ve never needed every tool in my box as much as I do now – 14 years after becoming a mum.

As a former health director, author of five wellbeing books, a qualified holistic therapist + women’s yoga therapist, I started MOTHER NOURISH – to combine my love of writing + practical wellbeing, in ways that feel really useful. And to help hold myself + others accountable to their own needs + essential daily nourishment (no excuses).

MOTHER NOURISH on Substack

For £5/month, paid subscribers receive a rich, wellbeing-infused, nourishing slice of helpful + yummy inspiration in the form of one long-form letter, every Sunday at 8am. Aptly called HOT BUTTERED TOAST , it’s also designed to be enjoyed in bed, with a cuppa, ‘Easy like Sunday Morning’ style.

Since becoming a mum 14 years ago, I’ve often allowed the important stuff – my mental, emotional + physical health – to slip further + further down my daily list of priorities, and when I turned 40, I promised to turn that page into a whole new chapter… one where I take my own advice, make daily choices that nourish me inside-and-out, and leave the guilt about what I need + deserve, behind me, once + for all.

As the former Beauty, Health + Wellness Director of Psychologies magazine, a qualified skin therapist, Women’s Yoga Therapist (Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, Shakti Yoga) + Ayurvedic consultant, I love to share the things I have learned, tried and adopted (and adapted) that REALLY make a difference. From my favourite organic products + skin rituals, whole food supplements + movement practices, to home-based healthy habits + life-changing books, these are the roots of nourishment, in my own home, with my family, as a full-time working mum of two.

Free Subscribers receive the occasional Crumbs (yummy ones). These will arrive as + when they feel fitting, roughly once a month. You’ll also receive previews to Paid Posts, just in case something whets the appetite and you’d like to upgrade to the whole hot buttered slice.

By subscribing you’ll also also be putting your money behind this work in a way that enables me to write more regularly, freely and openly – sharing stories that need to be heard, nourishment that needs to be shared, and helping to connect and uplift Mothers who are ready to live on more than the Crumbs!
